Job Description

We are looking for two PV + BESS Engineer who shares the values of Off Grid Europe to  become part of a friendly and innovative  team. One is to work in Pfullendorf (South Germany), the other to work in Senegal (Africa).

Your tasks will include:

• Prepare in-house drawings and technical specifications for electrical works (BOM, BOQ, RFP).
• Design of all electrical systems for PV and Battery systems (DC, AC, LV, HV, communication systems/SCADA, earthing and lightning protection).
• Preparation of design packages for various project phases such as conceptualization, planning, tendering and execution.
• Preparation of power flow scheme and SLD Review of vendor designs and drawings.
• Coordination and communication with third party technical advisors.
• Finalization of As-Built documentation together with onsite construction team, assisting Post Construction Management and Asset Management team.
• Simulations in PV syst.
• Simulations in Homer for BESS systems and Diesel generators.
• Time series analysis to load profiles.
• Simulations in power factory / PSCAD.

Your Profile:

• Design knowledge in areas of solar plant layouts, SLD, Power Transmission, System loss calculation, & general electrical requirements of Solar power plants, PV + BESS + Diesel generators.
• Knowledge in BESS, battery modeling and SoC profile modeling.
• Developing design documents using AutoCAD and other tools.
• Knowledge of electrical components/system design, identification of right specification according to the project specification as per the standards.
• In depth knowledge in cables, transformer, switchgear, protection relays, earthing and protection system.
• Vendor Management, detailed project BOQ for the electrical portion & seamless coordination with site team.
• Software skills like AutoCAD (mandatory) and MS office, PVsyst, Homer. Powerfactory, PSCAD, Python.
• Willingness to travel.

Qualification and Educational:

• Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an Institute of repute
• Min 5 years of relevant industry experience in solar plant design
• Knowledge of IEC codes and industry practices
• Languages: English is our day-to-day working language, knowledge of other language will be advantage
