Overview:
The Africa E-mobility Alliance (AfEMA) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. AfEMA is a neutral organisation that promotes the development of favourable policy environments and investment in electric mobility to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission vehicles in Africa. We seek to enhance energy resilience, foster innovation, and contribute to a carbon-free future.
Responsibilities:
- Research and Data Analysis: Conduct research and data analysis on e-mobility trends, policies, and market developments in Uganda and across Africa to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Policy and Market Assessment: Assess the regulatory and policy landscape for e-mobility in Uganda, identifying opportunities and barriers to the adoption of zero-emission vehicles.
- Knowledge Sharing: Disseminate research findings through well-crafted reports, policy briefs, and engaging content to raise awareness and knowledge among stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with partners, policymakers, and industry experts to gather insights and ensure research aligns with practical needs.
- Program Support: Provide research-based inputs and support to Programs Managers and other teams in the development and execution of initiatives.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, best practices, and emerging trends in e-mobility to inform AfEMA’s programs and advocacy efforts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, engineering, economics, or social sciences).
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in conducting research and data analysis, preferably related to sustainable mobility, renewable energy, or environmental policy.
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting research findings effectively.
- Familiarity with Uganda’s policy landscape and e-mobility developments is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple research projects simultaneously.
- Passion for sustainable development and contributing to a carbon-free future in Africa.
