The Account Manager serves as the primary interface for Odyssey’s Concessional Finance clients and responsible for ensuring they have a superb experience managing their programs on the Odyssey platform. The Account Manager will launch and facilitate mini-grid, solar-home system, improved cookstove, and productive use financing initiatives on the Odyssey software, support feasibility studies for clients, and work with other Odyssey teams internally to find solutions that meet client needs. The Account Manager will report to the Director of Delivery for Concessional Finance and hold primary responsibility for program management in Francophone countries. The Account manager will also work closely with the Director of Business Development in the Francophone countries.

You are a detail-oriented, communicative professional who can give clients a delightful experience by managing many projects/timelines at once and anticipating and responding to client needs. You are a self-starter who enjoys collaborating with clients and has a passion for renewable energy access. You have a knack for building effective working relationships with clients and are a hustler who delivers to clients. You are highly analytical, data-driven, and process-oriented. You bring strong presentation skills and can run meetings independently and effectively with key stakeholders. Because this role will service clients in Francophone countries, you are a fluent French speaker.

Responsibilities

    • Support account management teams with client management, stakeholder consultations, and other client/partner engagement activities as needed

    • Provide support and product demos to our clients (both minigrid developers and last mile distributors as well as development finance institutions) in both French and English

    • Ability to prepare and present compelling software demonstrations

    • Have frequent meetings with stakeholders to facilitate their use of the software

    • Complete follow-ups from meetings and coordinate with different teams at Odyssey to deliver to clients

    • Work closely with the business development team to maintain and develop relationships with clients

    • Work closely with other internal Odyssey teams to respond to other client needs, communicate opportunities, and ensure a consistently excellent user experience

Skills/Qualifications

  • University Degree in a related field (Public Administration/Public Policy, Project Management, Finance, Renewable Energy, International Development/Studies, Environmental Studies, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability etc.)

  • 3-5 years in implementing renewable energy projects or client management with a strong hold on how to give clients a great experience

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Fluency in French and English mandatory

  • Experience facilitating and/or deploying capital into energy and infrastructure projects or experience of working on projects in emerging/ frontier markets (especially Sub-Saharan Africa and the Asia-Pacific) is a plus

Job Location

Flexible; Odyssey offers remote working, but this position will coordinate with clients in European/African time zones so multiple hours of working-hour overlap with these time zones is necessary.
