is the removal of excess salts and minerals from sea water so that, the water obtained can be used for drinking and other use such as irrigation, it may also be referred to the removal of salts and minerals, as in soil desalination.

Desalination uses the process of reverse osmosis changes sea water into drinkable water taking out the salt, brackish waters, bacteria, brine. This process is now being used all around the world, mostly the middle east countries, which uses about 70% of worldwide capacity and in North Africa, which uses about 6% of worldwide capacity.
