The AFSIA Awards 2026 are supported by

The AFSIA Awards is the industry’s premier awards ceremony.

This annual event is the platform to recognize and celebrate exceptional talent and achievements in the African solar and storage market. The application process is open to everyone and applicants can choose among 14 award categories.

Focusing on all segments of the solar and storage industry, the purpose of the awards is to recognize and celebrate good practice, professionalism, quality, safety and innovation, with the aim of being a marker of the brightest and best that the African solar and storage industry has to offer.

The competition opened on 2 July 2026 and will close on 20 September 2026, culminating in the awards ceremony.

In collaboration with REFA, the awards ceremony will take place alongside the Renewable Energy Forum Africa (REFA) in Lagos, Nigeria, on Wednesday, 25 November 2026.

Applications:

Applications are open to all companies and individuals, and are free of charge.

Each applicant can participate in 1 or several of the 14 award categories covering all most important aspects and specialties of the African solar and storage industry.

Selection & voting process:

The winners of the AFSIA Awards will be determined by a combination of the expert jury evaluation and public voting.

First, the jury will review and evaluate each application and define the 3 nominees in each category.

Then, the 3 nominees of each category will be announced, and the public will be able to vote for them.

The winner will be defined by a combination of the jury and the public vote, each weighing 50% in the total score.

The candidate with the highest total score in each category will be elected winner of the year.

Award ceremony:

The awards ceremony is organized in collaboration with REFA – the Renewable Energy Forum Africa and will be conducted in in Lagos, Nigeria, on Wednesday, 25 November 2026.

REFA 2026 will take place on Wednesday, 25 November and Thursday, 26 November 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria, bringing together key stakeholders from across the African renewable energy sector.
